I’m just going to jump right in!

I recently had an awesome maternity session with Abigail’s parents at Historic Oak View Park in Raleigh, NC. At the time of that session they had her name narrowed down. When they selected their photos, they selected the ones with the blocks that spelled out Abigail.. I felt so privileged with this secret information… Then we all had to wait…. Then she arrived at 11:22am on December 4th, 2014 in Raleigh.

This session was special because mom brought a fun prop I have wanted to try out. And, it goes without saying, I was really excited to have such a sweet girl to use a prop like this with. Daddy is a huge fan of Air Jordans and UNC Chapel Hill. Being that daddy could not make the newborn session because he had to return to work, mom wanted to make she we did something special for him.

Abigail was radiating cuteness before, and completely wide awake and wanting to look around before we dressed her in a full size adult basketball jersey.

 

As you can see from the pictures, the color of the jersey really helped bring out the soft tone of her skin. I loved incorporating something so special that helped customize this newborn session.  I’ll definitely be using this again in future sessions. I can’t wait to see what future parents will be bringing to their sessions that are similar. This was definitely a great prop!

Not only did we use this special jersey we used lots of headbands and lots of different backdrops. It got much easier when this little angel finally fell asleep. It made it so easy to change her so many times.

I can’t wait to see how Abigail grows and changes in the upcoming months!
